New Robert Pattinson biographical comic features Portland’s Powell’s Books

One of the latest biographical comic books to come from Bluewater Productions (the folks behind the “Female Force” and “FAME” comic series, among others) features The Twilight Saga film franchise’s young heartthrob, Robert Pattinson.

The comic also prominently features Portland’s very own Powell’s Books.

“FAME: Robert Pattinson,” now available online and in local comic book stores for $3.99, tells the story of Pattinson’s career and rise to fame. It features a prominent look at his work on The Twilight Saga films, which helped rocket him to super-stardom, as well as his early work on Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire, and his more recent, non-vampire projects, such as Little Ashes, How to Be, Remember Me and the upcoming projects, Bel Ami, Water for Elephants and Unbound Captives.

But as the comic book begins its story, it starts out with panel artwork prominently featuring Powell’s Books. Author Kimberly Sherman recounts how Pattinson came to Portland in early 2008, ahead of filming of the first Twilight film, loaded up on books at Powell’s and secluded himself to read and imerse himself in the role as the vampire Edward Cullen.
