The 2012 most eagerly awaited movies (Cosmopolis)

As the year of 2011 in film has drawn to a close, we can look back on the year and notice a bombardment of sequels, prequels, and 3-D equals. As we look upon a new year and the most anticipated releases, one may be prepared for them to come by the bucket load and though there are fewer, they’re still quite prevalent.

Has Hollywood lost its creativity? We devised a list of 2012’s biggest releases for your own judgement.

The ongoing argument that the recent bombardment of remakes, prequels, and reboots should be brought to an end now seems futile. We as an audience should know that film appeals both to artistic and financial sensibilities. It’s an ever-evolving medium and it’s up to us as a worldwide audience to decide exactly what is profitable and while it’s these sorts of films we speak of that get the limelight, there are hidden gems to be found throughout the year. Keep an eye out for these: David Cronenberg’s ‘Cosmopolis’, Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master’, Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’,and the yet untitled Terrence Malick’s project.
