Kellan Lutz makes one adorable young fan’s day as he poses for a picture with her at the premiere of Tarzan held at the Odeon Point Village on Wednesday (April 23) in Dublin, Ireland.

The 29-year-old actor visited a London studio earlier in the day to do some promo work for the animated flick, which hits theater in Ireland and the UK on May 2.

“Hey team, check out the real #Tarzan story in West Africa & save endangered gorillas & chimps now” Kellan tweeted that day, along with a link to Ape Action Africa. Check out the wonderful cause.

He loans his voice to the role of Tarzan in his latest film, but it was his prodigious muscles that took centre stage as he promoted his latest film on ITV breakfast show Daybreak.

Taking to the sofa on Wednesday morning, Kellan’s hulking frame was hard to miss as he eulogised about the forthcoming film from German director Reinhard Klooss, in which he takes a starring role as the boy raised by apes from infancy.

Sporting a tight fitting shirt that appeared to accentuate his well-defined upper-body, the 29-year-old hunk admitted his appearance in e movie added another tick to his wish-list.

‘For me growing up I loved Disney movies so little boys dream come true playing Tarzan as well as Hercules,’ he told hosts Aled Jones and Ranvir Singh.

The animated adventure sees Tarzan and Jane – voiced by Spencer Locke – go head to head with merciless Greystoke Energies CEO William Clayton, the man charged with managing the company following the death of Tarzan’s parents in a plane crash.

Shot primarily in Munich, the film took more than four-years to make – and Kellan admitted he signed up half-way through its development.

‘I got brought into it about two years down the road – so Reinhardt, the director, writer, producer of it, this has been his passion project for the last ten years.

‘He just fell in love with the gorilla world and really just wanted to retell this story in more of a contemporary, modern way.’

He added: "When I got brought onto it he had his storyboards, and I’ve never done anything in the form of motion capture or in that sort of animation and you see how much work goes into pre-production, and then post with the animation, so it’s a big process.’

While the actor loans his voice to the film, the motion capture process required Lutz, best known for his role as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight franchise, to adopt ape-like mannerisms.

‘The hardest thing for me was learning how to walk Tarzan style,’ he said. "Twilight is playing a vampire, you’re dead essentially... not like Tarzan. I shot the movie for a month and half and it’s the best experience I’ve ever had.’

The actor later showed his playful side by beating his chest Tarzan style before opening up about two of his four patents, admitting they reflect his passion for personal fitness.

'For me I travel the world a lot, I love what I do and I have a healthy, active lifestyle, so a lot of the hotels I stay at don’t have gym facilities, or I like to get active on the aeroplane – I get a bit fidgety, so I’ve created a couple of workout devices, just to help with the training I guess,' he said.

Tarzan is released in the UK on May 2.
