‘Eclipse’ bringing back a ‘Twilight’ blue hue?

Months ago, we had a great discussion about the possibility that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’s hue might be a little more gray than the prior films.

The idea that the film would be primarily grayish or reddish in color then stemmed from a look at some of David Slade’s prior work – particularly Hard Candy and 30 Days Of Night. That and the fact that The Twilight Saga: New Moon’s gold tones began a new trend of mixed color schemes for these varying films. Later, when the title art and first movie poster for the film were revealed, the use of gray became undoubtable.

Recently, a few new stills from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse were unveiled by studio Summit Entertainment, and of them one stands out to some readers of this column.

Yesterday, when the cover art for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse: The Official Illustrated Movie Companion was revealed, a commenter named “Kris” shared her thoughts on the issue in very true and readable form.

“Anyone notice the deep-color theme in this flick–the blues and aquas, especially in the book cover and that pic. of the Cullens. They look like they all shopped in a denim store before the big battle!”

Indeed the photo of the Cullens does have a bit of that reminiscent Twilight blue
