In honor of the world premiere of the latest trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, three cast members joined emcees tonight to answer questions submitted by fans. On deck were Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale), Bryce Dallas Howard (replacing Rachelle Lefevre for the role of bad vamp Victoria), and Julia Jones (Leah Clearwater).
When asked what made “Eclipse” different from “Twilight” and “New Moon”, all participants agreed that the difference in “Eclipse” is the action. Not just in the technical sense, the events in “Eclipse” hold greater significance.
Said Bryce Dallas Howard, speaking of Bella, “the consequences of the choices she makes are much higher in the film.” Alluding to “New Moon”, in which the love triangle among she, Edward, and Jacob only had the power to impact the three of them, she contrasts “Eclipse” in which, says Howard, “…it’s not just her. The Stakes become enormously high. It’s New moon but a lot more.”
The actors also talked about what it was like to work with David Slade, who reportedly devoted an enormous amount of time with each actor on strategies for their characters. Said Nikki Reid, “We all felt like we got enough of him.”
The final question of the day asked the stars their favorite memories of working on the set of “Eclipse”. Bryce Dallas Howard spoke of the camaraderie among the cast and crew. “I haven’t had an experience on a film where you really get to know a group of people as I did on this film. I have so much respect for everyone who’s involved with them because they’ve stayed really grounded, and their friendships have stayed really true…it’s a group of artists who are really serious about what’s being created.”
