Jason Isaacs may be busy celebrating the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, success at the box office (he plays Lucius Maloy in the series), but you’ll see him this fall sharing the screen with Taylor Lautner in Abduction. He says his wife is Team Edward, but that he has to side with Taylor and go with Team Jacob. He also talks about the fans’ devotion to Taylor on set. From the Shropshire Star:
Despite working on the hit Harry Potter franchise, the British star said he had never witnessed anything like the scale of adoration Taylor received from his ‘Twihards’.
“I’ve been around Daniel, Rupert and Emma and seen the scale of the Harry Potter stuff but I’ve never encountered the kind of animal hunger that people had to be near Taylor,” Jason said.
“People would arrive at 5am, it was 100 degrees, and place themselves behind the barriers half a mile from the set and stay there all day passing out – from five-year-olds to 85-year-olds and it took a lot of extra security and stuff. It was like being at the birth of a supernova, it was really extraordinary.”
Jason, who currently stars in new Disney Pixar film Cars 2, admitted he had never seen any of the Twilight films.
“My wife has seen one and fell madly in love with Team Edward, with Robert (Pattinson), but I’m now Team Jacob,” he added.
“(Taylor) is a lovely guy. He’s a very sweet and courteous and unbelievably hard-working young man and he’s a super-fit physical specimen – he does jumping back somersaults all the time to amuse you.”
