The first three films in the “Twilight Saga” will be shown as a triple feature at Cinemark’s Tinseltown 17 on Tuesday, June 29.
The newest movie, a second sequel called “Eclipse,” actually will be screened for the very first time at 12:01 a.m. (Wednesday morning).
It will be preceded by “Twilight” at 7:15 p.m. and “New Moon” at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The films find teenager Bella attracted to vampire Edward Cullen in a small northwestern town, only to find out good friend Jacob Black is a vampire-hating werewolf.
A ticket good for the entire triple feature is $20.
Six weeks ahead of time, the triple feature in Lubbock already is sold out.
When writing about summer movies, I mentioned that “Eclipse” could wind up the summer’s biggest movie — but I am trying to visualize Tinseltown opening either auditorium no. 1 or 17 (their two largest) and each person paying $20 for a seat! That’s a huge payout before the movie even officially opens.
Were you able to score a ticket? And if not, how eager are you to see how filmmakers handle “Eclipse?”
