Tinsel Korey Talks David Slade And 2010 MTV Movie Awards

From MTV:

As Twi-Hards know, the actors, directors and assorted crew associated with "Twilight" are typically under strict orders to stay mum about most details related to the films. So although castmember Tinsel Korey — she plays wolf pack den mother Emily Young — couldn't reveal too much about the upcoming "Eclipse" when MTV News caught up with her, she did open up about the vampire franchise's latest director.

David Slade ("30 Days of Night") helmed "Eclipse," due June 30, and Korey had nothing but kind words for him.

"He's great. He's a really different director from Chris Weitz," Korey told MTV News, comparing Slade to the man who led "New Moon." "Chris Weitz is an actor's director, where you focus on all the emotion, whereas David Slade is more technical, so there's a distance because he's always thinking about the fuller picture with all the fight scenes."

Just back from the Cannes Film Festival, where she promoted her independent feature "Stained," Korey also talked about the scene she's most excited to see onscreen. While she hasn't seen the finished third installment, the "wolf pack" creation story, she said, is a "beautiful moment" of storytelling.

With the 2010 MTV Movie Awards set to air June 6, we asked what she thought the chances were that "New Moon" would claim Best Movie over "Avatar" and "The Hangover." Not surprisingly, Korey said she had no doubt her movie would take the golden popcorn — for one reason in particular.

"Because I'm in it," she joked. "Just kidding! I prefer it over the CGI stuff. I think 'Avatar' was a beautiful movie but I love the love story in 'Twilight'. "
