Robert Pattinson: The Latest Brit To Make It Big In Hollywood
Thanks to the Twilight Saga Robert Pattinson has staked his claim on the hearts of millions as Edward Cullen. And that fame has already earned him a fortune...With Twilight mania sweeping the globe it is perhaps unsurprising that vampire Robert Pattinson, aka Edward Cullen, found his way on to the Sunday Times Young Millionaires List this year.
His new entry on the list places him at 13th, above Charlotte Church and Cheryl Cole but below Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame. And at the tender age of just 24.
For the uninitiated, the Twilight Saga is a series of romantic fantasy films, which built up a cult following, based on novels by the American author Stephenie Meyer. Robert Pattinson, with a notable similarity to Robert Smith of the Cure, is its star. He is just the latest Brit to make it big in Hollywood.
His new found fame and fortune are still seemingly strange to him though, since he struggled diligently in acting for years. He started acting in amateur plays at the age of 15 with the Barnes Theatre Company.
His first real break came along with a supporting role in the television film Curse of the Ring in 2005. However most of the earnings from his first acting job then went towards paying off his fees for his attendance at the Harrodian School, in Barnes, West London.
But none of it might have happened. He has admitted that at one stage he was ready to give up acting, and spent a year instead trying to break into the music business: he's also a talented musician, playing both guitar and piano.
His next big break came along in the form of the role of Cedric Diggory, a character in the Harry Potter films. However, this temporary character was nothing in comparison to the Twilight persona he would go on to create. Twilight was the defining moment that cemented his place in the hearts and minds of millions of people, as well as making him rich.
When he first took on the role of Edward Cullen he was paid an already hefty $2m (approximately £1.3m) and by the time the mass hysteria of fandom had kicked in, the second instalment saw both him and co-star Kristen Stewart receive around six times their original fee - around £8m each.
According to E! he garnered between £8m and £9.2m for his reprisal of the role in the third installment. He also made Vanity Fair's Top Hollywood Earners of 2009, at position 36, for pulling in earnings of $18m (£12m). However, unlike most other celebrities, even those who haven't rocketed up the rich list, Pattinson appears to have no real yearning for material goods, at least not yet.
He noted that throughout the last three years he has spent much of it staying in hotels and when he's back at home in England he happily stays with his family. He considered buying a house in Hollywood but decided not for the level-headed but pessimistic reason that 'I don't even know if I'll be working next year.'
Far from being out of work, he is inundated with it. Aside from his more independent films in which he is attempting a carve out a different name for himself, the role of Edward Cullen pays well. With the release of Eclipse, the third film in the series, attention has turned to the final installment.
That movie, Breaking Dawn, is set to be split into two films and it is yet to be announced how much he earned from these although it is reported that the cast all wanted raises.
It is perhaps this guarantee of work that inspired him to be a little more decadent with his money and rent an apartment in LA which, apparently, is also furnished with rented furniture.
Not only has he not bought himself a mansion or squandered money on meaningless frivolities, but he drove his old car, a 1989 BMW until it died, literally, in flames. He finally rented an Audi S4 convertible – a car worth a modest (in Hollywood circles) £40,000 and is believed to have bought one since. Not exactly what you might attribute to being the lifestyle of the rich and the famous.

Other American’s on the list (New Statesman is a UK publication) are Lady Gaga, Hilary Clinton, Steve Jobs, Barack Obama, Sarah Palin, Warren Buffet among others.

Garrett Hedlund Interview: ON THE ROAD Update
In this exclusive interview with Collider, actor Garrett Hedlund talked about playing Sam Flynn, the experience of working with someone as talented as Jeff Bridges and how much he already misses being on set for this project. He also revealed that he was involved in the additional footage that was shot after the film was completed, and how he’s playing another dream role in the smaller character drama On the Road, with Sam Riley and Kristen Stewart. Check out what he had to say after the jump.
What was it like to go from something as massive as this to a smaller character piece like On the Road?
HEDLUND: With Tron, we had so many crew members around and a stage full of special effects people that know exactly what has to be done in the situations. You’re on a stage in sets the whole time. For our experience with On the Road, it’s been quite the opposite. It’s been quite a guerilla shoot. At times, there’s just been two handfuls of crew members around us and it’s a very quiet situation. The content that we’re dealing with is all over the board. The Beat Generation is so much more different than the technological world.
Just personally, I’ve been attached to On the Road since 2007 and it was the greatest thing in my life when I got cast in it. I couldn’t believe it. When I was 17 and read the book, I looked it up on IMDb and it said that Francis Ford Coppola was going to direct it. Me just being a kid about to graduate high school, I knew I would never get a shot at it. Now, it’s eight years later and I’m on the set of On the Road. Every day, me and Sam Riley would look at each other and just be like, “We’re fuckin’ filming On the Road.”
Also, the character is such a wild, maniacal, extroverted genius. Kerouac was the cowboy that inspired the whole Beat Generation, and highlighted and put the spotlight on all of these minds that didn’t really know what they were doing at the time, but accomplished something much bigger than what they ever foresaw. I think that’s what Tron is doing, in terms of the technological world. From what the first one had done, this one is taking that torch a little further. Anybody that’s sitting out in the audience that has the aspirations to be in this business and do anything with special effects or computers, it’s going to inspire them to work a little harder to get to where they want to be. Once they get there, they’re going to create that piece of work that’s going to inspire the whole next generation of creators.

Producer Deon Taylor Talks About Nikki Reed
Before her fame skyrocketed thanks to her role as Rosalie in the Twilight saga, Nikki Reed was already working on chilling material for the horror film Chain Letter. Deon Taylor, the director of the film, raved about the actress and revealed what she was like off screen and what happened when she learned she landed her vampire role. RadarOnline.com also has exclusive photos of Nikki on the Chain Letter set.
“Nikki does incredible in this film and she’s very witty in person,” Taylor said. In the film, Reed plays Jessie, a high school student hunted by a maniac. Jessie’s friends are brutally murdered after not passing on a chain letter. Taylor described Chain Letter as “a very smart horror movie. It has the most incredible kills of this generation.”
During the shoot, Reed found out that she got the role in Twilight. “One day she came in and told me she was up for a really cool role,” Taylor remembered. “And the next day she said they’re going to have me in a really cool new movie and I’m going to have blonde hair!!” He said the news thrilled his leading lady. “It’s great to see her on the upswing,” he added.
“She’s gorgeous, sexy, beautiful, really smart,” Taylor said of his leading lady. “She’s always one step ahead of you.”
He said fans of the actress will be surprised by her acting chops in the flick. “Here is someone that everyone thinks is one way and I wanted her to be another way.”
Despite rumors that Nikki was shunning the movie and refused to help do any promotions, Taylor said she was very supportive. “When you’re in a machine like Twilight it’s hard. This isn’t a silly movie where Nikki is running around in a bikini, it’s a smart horror film.”
Taylor’s good friend Jamie Foxx attended the premiere, where the Oscar winner exclusively told RadarOnline.com: “I loved the movie, it was a cool horror film and I jumped at the scary parts!”

Kay Panabaker Interview: Jackson Rathbone Mentions
Kay Panabaker, the actress Jackson’s gonna work with in “No Ordinary Family”, mentioned him in an interview. You can read this part below:
PW: Can’t imagine that makes dating very easy.
Kay: No [laughs]. Not at all. But it’s fun because I’m on my fourth love interest by episode seven. It’s great seeing the true nature of boys and what they think.
PW: And one of them is Trent, played by Jackson Rathbone, right?
Kay: Yes. In that episode my power evolves. I don’t want to ruin how, but it goes to the next level. I love working with him but I think it’s funny they keep casting 25 year olds to play my best friends and boyfriends. I keep thinking – she’s 16, I’m 20, what’s going on here? [laughs] I’m used to it though being in this business, I mean my first kiss was with Zac Efron when I was 13 and he was 16.
PW: So kissing you is the key to superstardom?
Kay: I’d like to think so – on screen kisses only [laughs]. Have your character kiss my character and you’ll be rocketed to stardom.
“No Ordinary Family” premieres tonight at 8pm on ABC.

Welcome to the Rileys On the List of the Hottest Movies to See From Now Till Thanksgiving
Welcome to the Rileys, Oct. 29, Sony
It's going to be interesting to see what will happen with Welcome to the Riley's, a small movie starring two people of great interest to very different audiences. Kristen Stewart, patron saint of the skinny and faux-awkward riding the L train, plays an underage stripper/prostitute (who will also surely be skinny and awkward) who becomes the personal project of a businessman, played by James Gandolfini. It's a toss-up which is harder for audiences to divorce themselves from, Gandolfini's Tony Soprano or Stewart's Twilight heroine. The good news is that this film also stars the magnificent Melissa Leo (Frozen River), and was written by Ken Hixon (Inventing the Abbots); it was directed by Jake Scott (son of Ridley). We're a little concerned to hear what we think might be a Southern accent coming out of Mr. Gandolfini (who last did this in the disastrous remake of All the King's Men), but we're holding out hope.

Newcomer Mackenzie Foy To Play Renesmee?
According to Entertainment Weekly’s Hollywood Insider, newcomer Mackenzie Foy may be playing Renesmee in Breaking Dawn.
It’s a big day for Twihards. First Maggie Grace signs on to play Irina. Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foyis inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.
It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Summit Entertainment is remaining mum on the issue. But to see Foy’s angelic face, which could very well be the offspring of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, check out her website.

No Shirt for Taylor Lautner in ‘Stretch Armstrong’
Taylor Lautner just wrapped the action thriller Abduction, which comes out next year, and will soon go to work on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. But after that, he’s scheduled to star in a big-screen Stretch Armstrong adaptation. And if you’re not excited about it, would it help to know that he’ll go shirtless? According to director Nick Stoller (Get Him to the Greek) in an interview with MTV:
He will not wear a shirt…I’m sure we will find a way for him not to have his shirt on at some point in the movie. … It’s really exciting to get to work with a star who’s just so, like, white hot right now. I mean when we were hanging out with him, I’ve never seen more people come up to a celebrity before, so yeah, it was pretty cool. And he’s just this really nice kid, it’s such a funny thing to witness. And he’s smart. He’s got really good notes on the script. He’s just the real deal and, yeah, he happens to have an awesome six pack.

Twilight Moms Interview With Nikki Reed and Sage
Nikki Reed and one of her closest friends the musician, Sage, gave joint interviews to Twilight Moms about their careers and joint interests. Earlier this year Nikki directed a music video for Sage. Back when they were filming New Moon, Sage played a few gigs in Vancouver and Nikki helped set up the stage (photo credit above: Vancity Allie, see video below and Vancity Allie’s blog)
Sage from the Dills Performs at Metropole (with Nikki Reed, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner in attendance) from VancityAllie on Vimeo.
“If you can meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?
If I could meet anyone, it would probably be my mom’s mom, who died long before I was born. I’m not really interested in meeting people I idolize because I want to continue to see them as in whatever way they show themselves to the public.
What do you ‘fan girl’ about?
I am currently obsessing hard over Hanson. I’ve even written them fan girl letters. I’m not kidding.
What is one thing you want to do in life that you haven’t yet?
I want to jump out of an airplane. Maybe Ill attempt that next year.”

Kellan Lutz: Excited For Breaking Dawn and Emmett’s Role
Marc Malken at E! talked to Kellan Lutz about what is in store for Breaking Dawn.
“We start sometime in October and go all the way through to late April,” Kellan Lutz says. “I just did a [wardrobe fitting] and a contact lenses test.”
As for that much anticipated, hard-to-imagine birthing scene…
Lutz cracked, “I think they should show it and have Emmett in the background laughing.”

Chris Wolstenholme of Muse Dishes on How Twilight Has Helped Their Fanbase Grow
The Sacaramento Bee had the oportunity to interview Muse’s Bass player,Chris Wolstenholme, via telephone last week. He talked about the huge popularity Muse has finally acheived here in the states after their European beginings back in 1994. He comments on the effect the Twilight franchise has had on their musical popularity.
How much did appearing on the “Twilight” soundtracks help your popularity in the States?
It really helped. I think in this day and age when people don’t go out and buy as many records, you use things like that to expose yourself to people who don’t know the band. It caused more of a buzz, and more people came out to see us live, and now it is sort of catching up. We are playing in arenas over here, and we are really enjoying it. I think that is what we always wanted but we thought we could never have.

Maggie Grace joins 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn'
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 now has an "Irina," according to Gossip Cop. "Maggie Grace has been cast as vampire Irina in Breaking Dawn," the site reports.
As you probably remember, "Irina" was one of the Denali Coven members - the one that accidentally sets off the "Volturi" on their trip to Forks, Washington.
She is described as follows: "a vampire with chin length silvery blonde hair and golden eyes."
In the book, she was the only "Denali" to not show up at the wedding. Though it has not yet been discussed in the Twilight films, her character was formerly involved with "Laurent" (portrayed by Edi Gathegi) and holds a grudge against the wolves for killing him. So, assuming the films follow the sequence of events in the book, she'll probably only appear in Part 2.
Maggie Grace portrayed "Shannon" in the LOST series.

New Anna Kendrick Interview by Portland Monthly
Anna did an interview for Portland Monthly back in 2008, and I have found a new candid and unearthed the the transcript. This was right around the time Anna had just finished shooting The Marc Pease Experience, so she is talking about working with Jason Schwartzman and Ben Stiller, and lots about her hometown :
When did you get your role in The Marc Pease Experience?
I got the phone call on Valentine’s Day last year. I usually have bad luck on Valentine’s Day, so I was very nervous when I heard I’d get the decision [by telephone] then. Up until then, anything work-related that had happened on a Valentine’s Day had just gone down the toilet. So this was great. It reversed my luck!
Do Ben Stiller and Jason Schwartzman know you’re from Maine?
I remember talking to Jason, because he used to be the drummer for Phantom Planet. When I told him I was from here, he immediately said he liked Portland because he’d come here with his band, and all of a sudden I blurted out, ‘I was there! You opened for Incubus at the Civic Center.’ It all came back to me: ‘Your lead singer stage dived, and a group of my friends caught him!’
Was there a real-life Jason Schwartzman counterpart at Deering when you went there–you know, your basic uber-loser who returns eight years after graduating in disguise so that he can star in your high-school production of The Wiz?
No! I’ve never met anybody like Jason, and I don’t think anybody has met anybody like Marc Pease. He’s one of a kind.
Take us behind the curtain during filming.
I remember my first day. Jason and Ben knew how terrified I was about the whole thing, so they took it easy on the practical jokes–it was obviously a very big deal for me. But there was one time: Ben plays my music teacher, and in one scene, we were doing vocal warm-ups and Ben started improvising funnier and funnier things that I had to repeat back to him. It turned out everybody was laughing in the background, but I was white as a ghost. In-between, the script supervisor said, ‘What he said was so funny–I can’t believe you’re not laughing; this is so incredibly professional of you.’ I said, ‘This is not skill, this is fear.‘
In what ways is your character like the person you were at Deering High, and in what ways is she different?
She’s romantically involved with two older men, which is certainly nothing I was involved with at Deering. She’s vulnerable and in the process of discovering her strengths, and I think I shared that with everyone going through high school.
Have you had to alter your Broadway live-audience gestures for movies? Exactly what measures did you take?
I was lucky. My first film was a film about theater, called Camp, in 2003, so that kind of eased me into the transition.
Where is the premiere going to be when the movie comes out, and what friends of yours from Maine will attend?
I imagine it will be in L.A., and what I’ll have to do during the premiere will be a lot like working. I like to keep that whole part of my life private.
You’re not doing a very good job of that!
It’s more like, I’d hate to disillusion any of my friends about how un-fun L.A. can actually be.
There’s a 20 year age gap between you and Ben Stiller. Did he make jokes about that, or did you?
Oh, yeah. He was cool and cracked a couple of jokes. But like I said, I was too nervous to make jokes myself!
What’s your ‘role that got away,’ so far?
They’re remaking my favorite film, The Women, and it’s my tough luck that they didn’t make it 15 years from now, because I’m too young for any of those roles.
How are you a different actress than if you’d been born in California or New York?
Growing up in a normal atmosphere and going to public schools in a life that seems, in comparison, to be ‘humble’ beginnings, is invaluable. I don’t understand how a girl who’s grown up in California can even play your average Joe. I wouldn’t just be a different actress if I’d grown up in New York or California–I’d be a different person.
What does it take to make you feel you’ve really returned to Maine during a visit?
I’d have to watch a football game with my dad. Patriots, obviously. I know this is not very Maine-like, but my dad and I have to get the spicy scallop roll at Yosaku. I also love Foley’s Bakery and Street & Company.
What’s your favorite film performance by a Maine actor?
Bob Marley in Boondock Saints is fantastic.
How often do you come to Maine?
I usually just come for Christmas, but then somebody gets married or graduates, so it ends up to be twice a year.
If your life were a movie here in Portland, where would you have to go when you had to be alone to think things through, the way Spiderman goes up into his tower?
I go to the woods on Leland Street above the Deering High football field to hear myself think, or Fort Williams.
We celebrated you as one of the “Ten Most Intriguing People in Maine” when you were 13. Did your fellow students razz you about that?
I’m sure they didn’t mean anything by it. When you’re in middle school, any attention feels like negative attention. I definitely felt different when I came back [from her Tony-nominated and Drama Desk-award-winning role in High Society on Broadway] as a teenager. They say you can never go home again, but it’s strange. On one side, you feel like you’re the person you were. The atmosphere feels the same, so why shouldn’t you feel the same? Then I have to remind myself that I’ve been taking care of myself since I was 17 and you have to move on. Uh-oh! My mom just gave me a look.

Authentic Stephenie Meyer Signed Books Up For Auction
Last year Stephenie participated in an event called Save the Book Babe. It was to raise money for her friend and a leader in the children’s and YA book world, Faith Hochhalter. Faith was striken with breast cancer and had no insurance. Stephenie and other authors rallied for an event to fund raise for Faith. The good news is Faith is doing better, and we are going to have an interview with one of the authors from that event whose wife and child became Twilight fans after his involvement.
During the event, participants were able to get books signed by Stephenie, which is difficult because she hasn’t had a sigining since Breaking Dawn came out in 2008.
Well there are left over books from the event and the organizers of Save the Book Babe have told us that Stephenie asked if her items could be auctioned off to benefit the Susan G. Kolman fund (a leader in supporting breast cancer research).
So, if you want a guaranteed authentic signed Twilight Saga book and want to support a super charity, head on over to Ebay!

Ed Westwick mentions Rob
Another day, another tall, dark, handsome Brit in Hollywood? Westwick nods at the reference to English actor Robert Pattinson, who plays dashing vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight films. Both are narrow-eyed, deep-voiced, chisel-jawed and beguilingly pouty – not that we’ve thought about it much.
‘Yup, there seems to be something going on right now,’ he laughs. ‘I can’t figure it out but we’re definitely representing’.

AZCentral.com Nails Why Rob Works as Edward Cullen
While this article at the source is mainly about the vampire phenomenon, the writer makes an a point that I couldn’t pass up to share with you. He said,
That sense of fantasy is evident in Meyer’s creation. Edward Cullen may look like your typical teenager – well, as much as Robert Pattinson can look typical – but he’s got a rare old-school gentility.

The Volvo: Breaking Dawn Style
Given that the Volvo has changed a bit from what is in the books when it hit screens, many of us have been wondering what it will look like in Breaking Dawn.
In the books the Volvo is a S60R which is no longer made. Stephenie Meyer in the recent fansite interviews stated:
“…you know the reason that Edward drives a Volvo is to be inconspicuous and because the whole—you know, people see a Volvo and think you buy them for safety and it’s kind of a joke, like it’s the way to blend in because the last thing in the world he needs is a safe car. So when I was doing the cars, my brothers are car freaks—you know— and I asked them. I said, “Okay, if you were gonna drive a Volvo but you’re a car enthusiast” and they’re like: “Ugh!” And I’m like: “No, what are you gonna drive?” And they’re like: “Well, there’s the S60 R. Very limited, not a lot of people did it. It looks like a sedan but it’s built for racing.” And so I was like: “Oh that’s perfect!”
So, the intention based on Stephenie Meyer’s quote seems to be inconspicuous, but with a love of car enthusiast speed. Also add to that that the color as stated in the books and on Stephenie’s website is bright silver.
The Twilight movie has a Volvo that didn’t quite blend in. It had that Herbie the Lovebug on crack look. It did, however get the speed and color aspects right. In New Moon and Eclipse the pendulum swung totally in the opposite direction to a SUV with a paint job that looked black. Inconspicuous was the understatement of the year. The car was rendered completely forgettable. That potential speed factor was totally annihilated.
So now we are up to Breaking Dawn and we think we speak for many fans when we say CAN YOU JUST GET THE DANG CAR RIGHT!!!!!!!!! It’s a VOLVO SEDAN. They make Volvo sedans, it’s not that hard!
Fear not, there is a solution that one of our Lexicon readers, CC, stumbled upon. Volvo has a totally revised S60 out that is an awful lot like the now defunct S60R! We played with the “build your own Volvo S60” features on the site and the pictures above are what we came up with.

What Twilight Could Have Been
One of the producers of Twilight, Mark Morgan, (seen left at the New Moon premiere. Photo credit: Sue Schneider_MGp Agency) spoke to Hollywood Life about what the original draft of Twilight was like back when MTV/Parmount had it and Stephenie Meyer was a relatively unknown author. Twilight was purchased before it was even published as is fairly common in Hollywood. Many scripts are optioned, but something like only 20% ever get made. Despite flaws, I think we can all agree that the Melissa Rosenberg version is way better. The MTV/Paramount version represents typical big studio think where they repackage everything rather than taking the best from the original.
At the Eclipse Prom in 2008, Laura talked with Stephenie a bit about the project where Stephenie mentioned some details like Bella and Edward being pursued by the FBI/CIA, bullets harming vampires, and Bella being a track star at BYU. The conversation was relatively late at night and Laura actually thought she imagined most of it the next day. At the end of the discussion, Stephenie mentioned that the rights to the movie were now going to an independent studio and she’d have more control over the script, and she was hopeful for it looking like something the fans would like.
Here’s what producer Mark Morgan told Hollywood Life:
“I actually found the material originally and then [sold it to MTV] and then sold it to Paramount,” he confided. “Lo and behold, six months later, after we chose a writer [Melissa Rosenberg], we did a draft and [Paramount] put the project in turnaround.”
Mark noted that it was hard finding a buyer for the script — believe it or not, nobody wanted it! “We went shopping to every studio around, but everyone passed,” he told us. “Every studio passed! Finally [Summit] said ‘let’s do it.’ It was a total blessing that Summit [chose to do the movie], because frankly, Paramount would have chosen a different director [over Catherine Hardwicke]. Their rewrite wasn’t exactly like the book.”
So what WOULD you have seen in this parallel Twilight universe? “They wanted to go more with an action movie,” Mark explained. “They had Bella [Kristen Stewart] fighting back. They had her father dying in one of the scripts, actually, and her becoming a vampire in the first movie. There were a lot of weird things that I don’t think they understood at the time, because the books were just becoming popular. By the time [the script] got to Summit, they were smart enough to say ‘You know what? Let’s throw out all the old scripts and let’s start from scratch.”

TWILIGHT / NEW MOON / ECLIPSE DVD in France:
After the single DVD, collector, blu-ray and Ultimate Edition, I now come to discover on the internet the visual Official 3 DVD box set containing the film Twilight (Fascination) New Moon (Moon) and Eclipse (Eclipse). As for the other versions, this ‘discovery pack’ will also be available from December 3 at a price of € 34.99.
A priori, its content is intended for ‘beginners’ (or your friends that you want to ‘convert’), since it includes only the 3 films, without the bonus – which seems a bit ordinary considering the price … And then little personal opinion: I really like the edge of the box with the trio in cons-dipped!
The 3 DVD pack Twilight/New Moon/Eclipse is available at Amazon.fr.

Breaking Dawn News: Casting Of Renesmee Has Already Begun!
Shocking title? No? Didn’t think so. Reports are now hitting the Internet like wildfire stating that casting of the most anticipated role for Breaking Dawn, Renesmee, has already started. However, it has been reported now for over 2 weeks that auditions have already been going on for a couple of weeks now. BUT now ‘official’ word has been released, so we can all now jump for joy .. we will soon know who ‘she’ is going to be!!

The casting directors for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part I” are now casting the role of “Young Renesmee”. They are looking for a young girl who has some acting experience and is confident on a film set environment. This girl should have self-composure, good physical posture, and be very attentive, able to take direction well, and be quick to react. They also would prefer a girl with dance training.
The casting directors are not having open casting calls for this role due to the extremely high profile nature of the project. Rene Haynes, who was the casting director that handled Native American roles for the Twilight Saga films New Moon and Eclipse, held open casting calls for the films. She was quoted as saying, “It was crazy, especially in the early days, in the first four weeks after the announcement that my office was casting these roles we stopped counting emails after 20,000. We had created a dedicated email address for the project. We got so many we had to create another one.”
After an open casting call was posted on Craigslist for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, the day was filled with tears and disappointment as hordes of teens from all over North America were eventually turned away. Since many teens came from far and wide, including some from Florida, Washington, Oregon, and other cities, the early end to the open auditions sparked a wave of emotions as tears began to flow while others in the crowd became angry after standing and waiting almost all night in the Vancouver cold for the casting call.
There are currently three casting companies working on Breaking Dawn 1 & 2, and they all have gone public with email addresses. These email addresses have been flooded to the point of becoming filled to capacity and many submissions are being returned as “undeliverable” or “email not valid”. These email addresses are likely created mainly to appease the masses and are not being used for actual casting purposes.

Breaking Dawn Not Shot in 3-D
A site claiming to have information on Breaking Dawn being shot in 3-D has been debunked by Gossip Cop. Gossip Cop has checked and according to Summit:
A rep for Summit tells Gossip Cop, “Neither film is being shot in 3D,” and calls the rumors “fabricated.”
And a source informs Gossip Cop that while 3D effects can be added during post-production (as they have with some recent releases), right now it is too premature to say whether either part of Breaking Dawn will be converted.
See the entire statement on Gossip Cop.
One site running the rumor has now edited their post to remove the previously incorrect material. They have previously incorrectly cited the following information regarding Stephenie Meyer projects:
* Breaking Dawn would be made into three movies.
* Lana Veenker as a casting director for Breaking Dawn resulting in a flurry of calls and emails to her office.
* The Host movie would be shortly cast in Culver City and shot in early 2011.
* At one point a site claiming to have casting information took the unusual step of issuing a press release stating the film would shoot in Portland by Gus Van Saant.
So to recap Breaking Dawn info:
* 2 movies released in November 2011 and 2012 respectively
* Not currently shooting in 3-D, but it could be added in post production like it was for The Last Airbender.
* Directed by Bill Condon
* Shooting in Louisiana, Vancouver and potentially Brazil (still under negotiation)
* Info on casting found here.
