Unlike many other Shakespeare remakes, this one wouldn’t be updated for the present day — it would actually be set in Verona, Italy during the Renaissance. (It would drop the Shakespeare language, though.)
The last big adaptation of the play was 1996’s Romeo + Juliet, starring a young Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes.
