Eclipse’s Kirsten Prout to Star on ABC Family’s “The Lying Game”

Big casting news for ABC Family’s brand new series The Lying Game. Kirsten Prout, who most recently was seen as “Vampire Lucy” in Eclipse, is set to rejoin her a one-hour scripted drama based on the upcoming novel by Sara Shepard – the author who wrote the books Pretty Little Liars is based on.

This new series will follow Emma (Alexandra Chando), a kind-hearted foster kid who can’t catch a break. She finds out she has an identical twin sister, Sutton, who – unlike Emma – was adopted by wealthy parents and is seemingly living an ideal life. After their initial meeting, Sutton talks Emma into stepping into her life for a few days while she pursues a lead on their birth mother. Initially excited to do this favor for her sister, Emma soon learns that Sutton has gone missing and could be in trouble. Now, Emma must decide whether to come clean to Sutton’s family and risk her own safety in the hope of uncovering her twin sister’s true whereabouts, along with the truth about why they were separated in the first place.

On the show, Kirsten will play “Char” a teen from a very wealthy family, one of Sutton’s close friends, Char is a cheery and perky young lady whose demeanor hides the deep pain of having a mother who’s a drug or alcohol addict just back from yet another stint in rehab. Not the brightest girl in school, Char is determined not to let her home life get in the way of having a great time. Like Mads (Alice Greczyn), her other best friend, Char has no idea that Sutton has been replaced by her identical twin, Emma.
