"Carrie," based on the Stephen King novel, debuted in 1976 and starred Sissy Spacek as the haunted high-school teen. The movie, directed by Brian De Palma, is considered a horror classic.
A reboot is currently in the works, and while Chloe Moretz and Haley Bennett are being considered for the lead, Dakota Fanning was in the running at one point.
