It is so close you can count the hours instead of the days. New Moon, the second installment in the Twilight Saga is set to be released on dvd at midnight on March 20th. Area stores are planning midnight release parties where Twilight fans who cannot wait to get their hands on a copy can come to pick up the movie and have some fun.
Barnes and Nobles at the Triangle Towne Center will be reopening at midnight to waiting customers. They are advertising a New Moon two disc special edition dvd that includes a 6 part documentary, cast interviews, music videos inspired by the movie and a dream catcher bag clip – a bronze medallion with feathers and a wolf figurine (while supplies last). There will also be drawings for Twilight theme prizes. You can call 792-2140 for more information about event plans at this location.
Borders locations in Raleigh and surrounding areas will be starting their New Moon release parties at 10pm. There will be New Moon Awards (ballot can be downloaded at borders.com), games, a debate and a quote contest. Wrist bands will be given out to those who have pre-ordered a copy of the movie and lines will begin to form at 11:45pm in preparation for the midnight release. Walmart stores are also getting in on the New Moon action. Walmart on highway 70 in Clayton will be hosting a New Moon midnight release party complete with Twilight trivia for prizes and a cake made especially for the event. They are also advertising an Ultimate Fan Edition dvd that has never before seen footage of Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga.
